Dorothy Bush is a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a sister. These are roles she cherishes, but she doesn’t feel they define who she is as a person. Like everyone else she has hopes and dreams and ideas she wants to pursue.
Her lifelong dream has been to be a published writer and over the last few years, she has started to see the realization of that dream. She has had some success with non-fiction articles and photographs in the print media, and has had a non-fiction book on women who ride motorcycles published in August of 2008.
Currently she has two flash fiction stories submitted to the Writers Union of Canada 2010 Postcard competition and is working on one for the “Scene of the Crime” contest for the writer’s festival on Wolfe Island, and one for the Recorder and Times Short Story Competition.
She also has a romantic mystery novel in the wings, waiting for some spare time to work out the five “w’s”
Dorothy was born in Nova Scotia but has lived almost her entire life in Eastern Ontario. To this day she yearns for the cool salty breezes of the East Coast, and considers it her favourite travel destination. Besides her family, writing and travel, Dorothy has other interests: motorcycling, reading, geo-caching, needlework, genealogy and gardening.
